Professor of Biochemistry in Nutritional Biochemistry as well as phytonutrients and contributed to advanced the understanding of liabilities of iron deficiency as well as the use of phytotherapy in the management of iron deficiency.

worked in the industry both as analyst and Research and Development Manager at the Nigeria Breweries Limited, Kaduna and Kwara Breweries Limited, Offa respectively.
As the Director, Centre for Research Development and In-House Training, she administer day to day research activities in the University, initiating research collaborations, sourcing grants and providing guidance for researchers including doctoral students and organize capacity building workshops also,was Director, Central research laboratories in the university administering shared resources and state-of-the-art facilities for research.
I have attended many conferences nationally and internationally. I have served as editorial board member of many academic journals and have reviewed articles for many journals. I have served as external examiner to many Universities in Nigeria and also outside Nigeria Including University of Fort Hare, Alice, South Africa. A member of many professional bodies and presently, the Director of Administration (honourary) for Association of West Africa Universities.

Joined the services of the University of Ilorin in July, 1992 as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and rose through the rank to become a Professor of Biochemistry in 2011. She supervised many postgraduate students at the Masters and PhD levels. Her area of research is Nutritional Biochemistry as well as phytonutrients and her contributions have advanced the understanding of liabilities of iron deficiency as well as the use of phytotherapy in the management of iron deficiency. Currently, her research group, using tissue culture technique is incorporating iron in guinea corn to tackle iron deficiency. 

She has visited many Universities Nationally and Internationally and also worked in the industry both as analyst and Research and Development Officer at the Nigeria Breweries Limited, Kaduna and Kwara Breweries Limited, Offa between 1991 and 1992. She therefore well positioned to link research with industries.

Within the University, She served in several capacities at the Departmental, Faculty and University levels and as the Director, Centre for Research Development and In-House Training where she administer day to day research activities in the University, initiating research collaborations, sourcing grants and providing guidance for researchers including doctoral students. Additionally, She coordinate the capacity building centre of the University, organizing relevant training for staff and students of the University. She was Deputy Director, University of Ilorin Centre for International Education, Acting Head of Department between 2008 and 2010 and Sub-Dean, Faculty of Science between 2004 and 2007. At present, She oversee the central research laboratories in the university providing shared resources and state-of-the-art facilities for research. The facilities contribute to  teaching by providing students with hands-on learning experience on advanced instrumentations, and a head start in scientific research. She also liase with R&D Laboratories and Industries, support and facilitate the emergence of multidisciplinary research groups and consciously attract quality researcher from across the globe for collaborative research.

Nationally, She is the Coordinator, Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer office, University of Ilorin and a member of the  Board of Technology Incubation Centre, Ilorin. Served in the assessment of Readership and Professors for many Nigeria Universities and served on many university’s accreditation panel of the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.

She is a member of many professional bodies including International Society for the study of fatty acids and Lipids, UK, Organisation for women in Science for the Developing world, Nigeria Society for Experimental Biology and the Nigeria Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology where she served as Zonal Coordinator (North Central Zone).
